Session Overview
TMIT is delighted to have Ross Koppel, PhD, Adjunct Professor of Sociology, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. His presentation is “From MU to MUch less? What is CMS telling us?” We are also delighted to have Christopher Peabody, MD, MPH, Assistant Clinical Professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of California in San Francisco, leading the launch of our Community of Practice. He will be presenting “Health IT: Front-line Problems and Solutions.” John Nance, a world-class speaker, will join these presenters covering “HIT Accidents and Cybercrime Issues,” along with Dan Ford, one of our nation’s leading patient advocates, giving his talk on “Reflections on Visioning E.H.R. Vendor Transition and Including Patient Advocates.” We will have our first Board Brief, a recorded presentation by Sharon Rossmark, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Children’s Center in Washington, DC, and Terry Wheat, Director of Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer at Shriners Hospital for Children, and a trustee of another major medical center and safety-net hospital. The topic will be “Nurses on Governance Boards.” Our reactor panel of national patient advocates includes Jennifer Dingman, Founder, Persons United Limiting Substandards and Errors in Healthcare (PULSE), Colorado Division, and the other speakers. |
