Mr. Keil has 41 years of direct experience in the healthcare field of facilities management. Mr. Keil’s background includes 15 years of direct experience in the management of healthcare facilities, 13 years as the Director of Plant and Technology Management for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations®.
Mr. Keil has provided consultation to more than 100 healthcare organizations around the world in the areas of facilities management, clinical engineering management, life safety, occupational and environmental health & safety, accreditation and regulation.
He has served as a member of many codes and standards panels for the National Fire Protection Association and in a variety of volunteer leadership and committee roles with AAMI, ASHE and ISO.
Mr. Keil has authored numerous articles and books. He is currently the Senior Editor and columnist for FacilityCare magazine and an editorial opinion columnist for the Journal of Clinical Engineering.
In his role with OSF Healthcare, Mr. Keil is responsible for developing standard work systems for a variety of support services throughout the OSF system. Areas of responsibility include facilities management, clinical engineering, environmental health and safety and security. He is also an integral part of the design, construction and property management programs of OSF.
