Ryan Arnold, MD, is a practicing physician specializing in Emergency Medicine and is the Research Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware. He also serves as Senior Clinical Investigator at the Value Institute within Christiana Care. He has a Masters degree in Medical Science from the Boston University School of Medicine and his Medical Doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. Following his residency in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Arnold completed a Fellowship in Shock Research at Cooper University Hospital focused on the design and execution of emergency medicine and critical care-based clinical trials. For over 10 years, Dr. Arnold has focused his primary investigative efforts on several crucial aspects in the care of the sepsis patient, from novel diagnostic biomarkers and risk-stratification of sepsis, to clinical trials investigating the effectiveness of resuscitation protocols and novel therapeutic agents. He has participated as both principal and co-investigator in multiple prospective clinical trials with both NIH-funded and industry-supported investigations. Throughout his years as a clinical researcher, Dr. Arnold has served as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals, and is experienced in leading successful guideline development, health care consensus, and quality care initiatives.
