Session Overview
This two-hour session will be composed of a briefing on the new CMS Hospital-Acquired Conditions (HACs)-related payment issues, and the 2009 Safe Practices measured by The Leapfrog Group and other purchasers. An ample Q&A period will be provided for questions from the front line.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will learn about the latest updates on the new HACs, and about the transition of CMS from a "passive payer" to an "active purchaser" of quality healthcare.
Subject matter experts will provide an update schedule for the NQF Safe Practices for Better Healthcare, with an overview of the process of harmonization with CMS, The Joint Commission, IHI, AHRQ, The Leapfrog Group, and NQF measures.
