Ann Rhoades

Ann Rhoades is a dynamic and visionary Human Resources Executive with over 25 years' experience in a variety of service-based industries. She is currently the CEO of CARELeaders Corporation and the President of People Ink, her human resources consulting company. She was Vice President of the People Department for Southwest Airlines and, most recently, the Executive Vice President of People for JetBlue Airways, where she remains as a Board Member.

Ann has a respected reputation in the industry for her creative approach to creating cultures around fun, and for blending cultures in merger situations. During her tenure with Doubletree Hotels, later Promus Hotel Corporation, she built a service culture focused on delivering outstanding service to guests. During the time Ann headed the People Department at Southwest Airlines, she solidified Southwest's reputation of retaining and hiring the best people in the airline business despite Southwest's rapid growth during that time. Most recently, Ann took responsibility for the creation of JetBlue Airways Corporation's People Team in New York.

Ann is a popular speaker on the subject of customer service and how to build a strong service culture. She has great passion for certain industries, such as healthcare, where she is making a great contribution to revitalizing the workforce and culture of our nation's hospitals. She serves on patient safety and quality task forces with the Texas Medical Institute of Technology, involved in setting metrics used in pay-for-performance programs across the country. She is co-founder of CareLeaders Corporation, a company dedicated to helping US hospitals attain a new level of performance. Her community involvement includes the University of New Mexico-Robert O Anderson School of Business National Advisory Board, and Board of Directors, Albuquerque Community Foundation. Ann currently serves on JetBlue Airways Corporation, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Restoration Hardware, Acción New Mexico, and Executive Council, Brigham & Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School Boards and as chairwoman for Safer New Mexico Now. Ann has an MBA in Management from the University of New Mexico.

 
Lillee Gelinas, RN, MSN

Lillee Gelinas is currently vice president and chief nursing officer for VHA Inc. She has worked in health care for 30 years, including five years in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. Before officially joining VHA in 1986, Gelinas worked as the chief nursing officer at a VHA member hospital. At VHA, she has helped create programs and services that have enabled VHA member nurses and other clinicians to improve the quality of the patient care they provide.

Gelinas serves on numerous national committees, including the Joint Commission Nursing Advisory Council and the Institute of Medicine Performance Measures subcommittee. In 2003, she co-chaired the National Quality Forum Nursing Project, which resulted in 15 consensus performance measures being established for nursing sensitive care.

She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) and serves on AAN's Workforce Commission. As a member of the Board of Directors for Exempla Healthcare, Denver, Colorado since 2002, she is chairman of the Governance Committee.

 
Justine Medina, RN, MS

Ms. Medina is Director of Professional Practice and Programs at the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is the key resource for practice, education, research, and public policy for the association. In her leadership role she ensures a comprehensive, cohesive, and integrated organizational strategy for the provision of practice, education, and research resources, e-learning programs, symposia and other educational initiatives. In addition, she has central responsibility for ensuring that initiatives specifically targeting achievement of AACN's vision and priorities are not only comprehensive in scope, but effectively integrated throughout the association. Ms. Medina's clinical background is as a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, with special emphasis in the acute and critical care environments. She is a published author and is a nursing leader in national development of educational resources, which focus,for example, on end-of-life care, clinical decision-making and staffing, pain management, and healthy work environments.

 
Patti O'Regan, ARNP, NP-C, BC, MS, LMHC

Patti O'Regan is a Patient Advocate Leader and an adjunct faculty member at University of South Florida, College of Public Health; a founding Board Member, National Patient Safety Foundation at the AMA Consumer Advisory Board, later expanded to the National Patient Safety Foundation Patient and Family Advisory Council; and a founding member of the Board of Governors, Floridians for Patient Protection.
